My Trip To NYFW!

Lucky Cat Beauty was on the road recently for the New York Fashion Week for the SS2020 Season- I was realizing on the way to the hotel, it's been 10 YEARS since I have visited and worked in the city. I used to visit there at least a few times per year as a Global Makeup Artist for Laura Mercier Cosmetics during my 10-year career with her.

I was thrilled when a pal Beth, handbag designer of Elizabeth Purpich Collection invited me to join in on the fun. I teamed up with her friend Patty Busmier who was showcasing her line FACET Cosmetics.

This was the perfect place to debut two new styles for Lucky Cat Beauty. The DALLAS & NEW YORKs were a hit!

The party was held at the Four Seasons hotel was a blast with many Texans bringing the heat with them and taking over New York City. Our successful event was chock full of buzzy influencers and pretty people excited to see what Beth has brought back to NYC in her 5th year of showing there.

Coincidentally, it's the same time for the annual international cosmetics manufacturing show MakeUp New York. Its a trade show with the world's best cosmetics labs and suppliers come together. I was looking forward to seeing my cosmetic and packaging contacts as well as get some new inspiration for new additions to the line. Maribeth was doing product development for Maybelline and so we hit it up! Click the link to see Glamour Mag Video with MB!

I had my first celebrity sighting just after getting off the plane of Kate McKinnon. I am a huge fan so it was hard to not be ‘fan-girling" her but of course played it cool.

It was also Beth's birthday, so we started the girls' trip off proper sighting of a brunch to Balthazars in SOHO. Beth has been talking about this place for years. I had to experience this LIFE-CHANGING beef stroganoff for which I will be having dreams and crave it often like a pregnant woman now.

My bestie from Chicago, Aimee Wertepny of PROjECT Interiors was coincidentally in town so we were able to do some catching up and the uber-cool Le LABO scented hotel Arlo SOHO.

We somehow ended up in Koreatown Kaeokeoking till the wee hours of the evening. The next day was the trade show with my mentor & "big sis" Maribeth Madron, fellow ALLURE BEST OF BEAUTY DIRECTORY & Laura Mercier Alumni. MB is at Sharon Dorram at Sally Hershberger in NYC.

My "little sis" Stephanie Peterson also a talented MUA, who has lived in NYC for 14 years played host to me at her cute & cozy walkup in Brooklyn.

NYFW SS20 didn't disappoint. It's always exhausting but worth every second! The food, old friends, new friends & great memories-
